Story

About

I grew up in a house full of classical music. My family are musicians, and I started cello young: lessons, ensembles, the whole path laid out in front of me. Then my dad, who knew exactly what that path looked like, gave me the most honest advice he could: don't go into music, it's too hard to make a living. So I listened. I studied chemical engineering, graduated, and spent six years working as an engineer.

Dance music was always running underneath all of that. I got into it in high school, at first honestly just as a rebellion against the classical world I'd grown up in. But in college something shifted. I met the crew that became the Why? Record Company, and I started actually understanding what this music does to people. Why a room full of strangers can feel like one thing for a few hours. Why the right track at the right moment can reach somewhere words can't. I started producing sophomore year, got my first turntables junior year, and fell completely in love with it.

Then life got hard. The hardest years of my life, honestly. And dance music was there for all of it, not as an escape exactly, but as proof that feeling things fully is survivable. I'm here because of it. That's not something I say lightly.

Now I'm based in New York and I'm finally back doing this properly. I play across genres, 120 to 180 BPM, because what I'm building in a set isn't a genre exercise. It's a journey. From the basement, where the groove pulls you under and you forget everything except the pulse, to the rooftop, where it opens up and you remember you're alive. That feeling is why I do this. I want to give it back to people the way it was given to me.
